Audits

Cycle count audits keep your on hand honest without closing the shop for a once-a-year count.

Starting a count

Start an audit for a location (there's one open audit per location at a time). Stockroom snapshots the system quantity for every active variant at that location, then gives you a fast, filterable grid to count against.

Counting

Counts are whole numbers and are totals, not deltas. Enter the number you physically have. To add found items, increase the number. A separate "counted" flag means a count of zero (missing) is distinct from a line you simply haven't counted yet. You can scan items to tally them into the grid.

Live variance metrics

As you count, the grid shows live metrics:

  • counted vs pending
  • correct lines and miscounts
  • shrink (missing units and dollars)
  • overage (extra units and dollars)
  • net variance dollars and overall accuracy %

Completing

Completing the audit posts an audit movement of counted − system for each varied line, reconciling stock to your count. The completed session becomes a permanent, read-only audit report.

Scheduling

Set a recurring schedule (monthly or yearly, by day of month or nth weekday, e.g. "last Friday monthly"). The next-due reminder appears on both the Audits and Reports pages so a count never slips.
