Serial number tracking & chain of custody
Track every unit individually, from the box it arrived in to the customer who bought it.
Overview
What it does
Flag a product as serialized and every unit becomes its own tracked record: received, sold, transferred, returned, with true per-unit cost, warranty, and a full chain of custody.
- Turn it on per product. Only serialized items ever prompt for serial numbers.
- Capture serials on receipt; pick or scan the exact units to sell, transfer or return.
- Specific-identification COGS: each unit's real cost flows to margin, not an average.
- A scannable serial registry shows any unit's full history: buy, sell, return, RMA.
- Warranty dates per unit, with an expiring-soon report for proactive service.
